INSPECTION DEPARTMENT
The Inspection Department's purpose is to protect
the health, welfare, and property of its citizens through the proper
enforcement of adopted building codes. The Inspection Department
enforces the International Building Code, 2006 edition; International
Mechanical Code, 2006 edition; International Plumbing Code, 2006
edition; International Fuel Gas Code, 2006 edition; International
Swimming Pool Code, 2006 edition; International Residential Code, 2006
edition; National Electrical Code, 2008 edition; International Fire Code,
2006 edition; NFPA 1 Fire Prevention Code, 2006 edition; and the NFPA 101, Life
Safety Code, 2006 edition.
Once a permit application is received all
building plans are reviewed for compliance with building codes prior to
issuing any permits. Construction projects require foundation,
rough-in, and final inspections. After contractors and
sub-contractors have purchased a business license, all inspections have
been completed, and any required corrections have been made, a
certificate of occupancy will be issued.
