What is the Insurance Service Office Fire Protection Class Rating (ISO rating) for the City of Troy?

 

The current ISO rating for the City of Troy is a Class 4 inside the city limits and a Class 4 in the fire jurisdiction. 

This classification took effect in 2002.

When I dial 911 from a phone in Troy, who answers my call?

     

 When you dial 911 from any residence located in the city limits of Troy, your call is routed to a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP)

located in the police department at Troy public safety. A dispatcher that is an employee of the City of Troy or E-911 then processes your call.

When should I change the batteries in my smoke detectors?

     

We recommend that you change the batteries in your smoke detectors twice a year.

The easiest way to remember is to change them when Daylight Savings Time begins and ends.

Where can I find assistance getting a smoke detector for my house?

     

The Troy Fire Department with the assistance of area businesses & Troy Exchange Club have a supply of smoke detectors available

for individuals that are unable to afford to purchase them.  Contact Station #2 at 334-670-2265 for assistance.

What are the burning regulations in the City of Troy?

    

The City of Troy has a burn ordinance.  Anyone wishing to burn should contact the Troy Fire Department   to get a burn permit. 

The ordinance allows for the burning of wood, leaves and paper products.

If approved by the department no petroleum based or other products can be burned in the City of Troy.
