Welcome to Troy, Alabama, a wonderful place to live! As Mayor of Troy, Alabama, I am pleased to say that our city has enjoyed unparalleled growth over the last several years.
I remember when I first took office in 1982, the budget was around $10 million, and currently, the budget is at $35 million. That is a definite sign of our improving and prospering economy.
Troy's substantial growth has been accomplished by increasing the tax base. This is done in industrial, commercial and residential growth as opposed to increasing taxes. We are home to many large corporations including Lockheed-Martin, Sikorsky Support Services, and the Sanders Companies. We are also home to Troy University and the Trojans. The University's beautiful campus has undergone extensive renovations that have added to the beauty of our fine city. You will find a link to Troy University to the left, and I encourage you to take a look at everything they have to offer.
I take great pride in serving as the Mayor, and keeping Troy at the forefront. Please make yourself at home by browsing around our website. Even though we have done our best to showcase the beauty, diversity and the economic growth that makes the City of Troy a "wonderful" place to live, it is impossible to truly experience these things without visiting Troy for yourself.
