Mayor's
Anti-Litter Campaign
Dear
citizens of Troy,
One
of my major concerns, as the Mayor of Troy, is reducing
litter in our area. To take steps in solving this problem,
I have developed an anti-litter campaign committee.
This
committee is made up of various citizens in our area
representing different sectors of Troy. We have held
meetings and developed different strategies to put a
stop to littering. We have mainly concentrated on spreading
the word through our children.
I
have visited the Troy schools on various occasions to
speak with the students about the importance of putting
a stop to littering. Bumper stickers, litter bags and
litter patrol badges are some of the tools we have used
to spread the word about littering through our students.
The
City of Troy and Pike County have also joined forces
to form the Pike County anti-litter committee. This
committee’s goal is to reduce the amount of litter
in all of the cities and communities in Pike County.
Recently, both the City of Troy Anti-Litter Committee
and the Pike County Anti-Litter committee became members
of the Alabama P.A.L.S.
(People against a Littered State) organization.
This
section of the City of Troy website concentrates on
that issue. Please read these articles and tips to have
a better understanding of the efforts of my anti-litter
campaign.
Sincerely,

Jimmy
