Billing:
The
City of Troy utilities department
is committed to serving you promptly.
Application for service must be made
in person at the Utility Business
Office. You may download and print
the application here
(Adobe Acrobat required). Proper identification
must be presented. A social security
number or current driver's license
is required. For rental property,
a current rental agreement is required.
Transfer or Termination of Service
request must be made at the Utility
office. Transfer of service requires
that all current charges must be paid
at the time of the transfer.
Utility payments may be made:
- Inside
city hall
- At
the city hall drive-in window
- At
the night depository
- By
pre-authorized payment
- By
credit card (Visa or Master Card)
Pre-Authorized
Payments:
Similar to payment by personal check,
customers may request to have monthly
payments debited directly from their
bank account. This eliminates the
necessity of having to mail payments
or pay at the city hall each month.
Billing
Schedule:
All bills are mailed form the office
around the 25th of each month, to
the address listed. Failure to receive
a utility bill is not considered an
acceptable reason to avoid penalties
or fees. All bills are payable within
10 days by the delinquent date shown
on bill. Any such bill not paid by
delinquent date shall become subject
to all penalties and fees.
Penalties
and Fees:
Connection Fee: $10.00
Returned Check Fee: $20.00
- Delinquent
Fees:
$5.00 electric and $2.00 water or
5% of outstanding balance, whichever
is greater shall be paid for all
bills not paid on or before delinquent
date shown on the bill.
- Nonpayment
Fees:
An additional $10.00 nonpayment
fee is assessed on all accounts
not paid by the 20th of each month.
The nonpayment fee is applied independent
of termination of service and reconnection
fees.
- Reconnection
Fees:
a $5.00 water and $20.00 electric
reconnection fee will be assessed
on all bills not paid by the 3rd
day of the following month in which
the bill was due.
